Your One Source Supplier of Industrial Equipment for Water and Power

BIOGRAPHY

 MYRON L. BALL

Myron is a graduate of Georgia Tech, BA in Mechanical Engineering.  He served in the U.S. Navy on the LSMR Landing Support Missile Ship, better known for its news reel pictures on the Marine landing as fire support for McArthur’s surprise attack at Inchon, Korea.

He obtained electrical, power plant, and paper mill experience with Grinnell, Atlanta, and later with Power Piping Company of Pittsburgh.  He was with both companies as a Field Project Manager and Engineer, and later into sales.  Both companies were leaders in the shop fabrication of piping and hangers, and turn key field installation for the Southeast region for major electrical power plants and paper mills.

An opportunity came in 1963 to join W. D. Taulman Company in Atlanta, who at that time, was the largest Manufacturer’s Representative in the United States.  His position was Industrial Sales Manager for the Southeast.

His sales experience with the Taulman Company was so successful that in 1967, a decision was made to form his own company which started in the basement of his home.  He was able to get three or four minor lines and one, in particular, with Power Piping Company of Pittsburgh.  The President of Power Piping gave him $400.00 per month for one year as “grocery money”.  This, with a second mortgage on their home, put him in business.

It was an era of tremendous growth in the Southeast for companies such as Tennessee Valley Authority and Southern Company Services. Gradually good companies were obtained and added to the company’s representation, and the rest is history.

In 40 years, the Company has changed from a commission sales representation to a buy and resell warehouse distribution company for water and wastewater equipment.

In semi-retirement now, Myron still takes part in the Company as Secretary/Treasurer, concentrating more with interest rates, accounts payables and receivables, and without any extensive traveling.

He still plays golf with the Atlanta Seniors Golf Association, and is a member of the Cherokee Town and Country Club.

He and his wife attend the Clairmont Presbyterian Church, Atlanta.  Although, he has never had a golf hole-in-one, he recently had a lucky day and shot his age (which is confidential).
